Obituary - Grand Island (NE) Independent - August 16, 2004 RAPID CITY, S.D. -- Amanda Jo Bosak, 25, of Rapid City, S.D., formerly of Grand Island, died Friday, Aug. 13, 2004, at Chamberlain, S.D., as the result of a car accident. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Rev. Jose Chavez, the Rev. Tom Ryan and the Rev. Phil Flott will officiate. Cremation will follow the services. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the church, with a scripture rosary service at 7. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting with arrangements. Miss Bosak was born March 1, 1979, at Tyndall AFB in Panama City, Fla., to Larry and Barb (Kosinski) Bosak. Survivors of the immediate family include her parents of Grand Island; a sister and brother-in-law, Samantha and Louis Borges of Grand Island; and her fiancé, Jared Regelin of Rapid City. She is also survived by one niece, Emily Borges of Grand Island, and a grandfather, Ed Bosak of Fullerton. Amanda grew up and received her education at Lakenheath AFB in England and at Plew Elementary, Ruckle Middle School, and Niceville High School, in Niceville, Fla. She was active in the Girl Scouts and received her Silver Award. Her family moved to Grand Island in December of 1995. She graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1997. She attended Central Community CollegeGrand Island Campus before transferring to UNK. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree, majoring in Criminal Justice and Biology. She was Assistant Manager at American Eagle. She moved to Rapid City, S.D., in July of this year and was employed with American Eagle as a sales associate. She liked to make hemp necklaces and bracelets and was a gifted seamstress. She enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing, and was a music lover, attending concerts and collecting CDs of all types of music. She was learning to play the guitar. She played softball, enjoyed gardening, playing PS 2, Spongebob and loved the company of her cat, Bailey. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Rapid City, S.D. Her grandparents, Mary Bosak, Frank and Dorothy Kosinski, and several uncles preceded her in death.
